The Department of Education announced Wednesday that they would start taking away harsh restrictions for public workers to get student loan debt forgiveness. According to Education Secretary Miguel Cardona, this debt forgiveness program has been in place for ten years but “has not delivered.” This new system will make it so any public servant who works full time and has for at least ten years, may be eligible for this loan forgiveness program.
