A bill Gavin Newsom signed with regard to assisted suicide reduces the waiting period to be given lethal drugs from a 15-day wait to a now 48-hour wait. This bill would also require all doctors to post their assisted suicide policies on their websites. Euthanasia has been legal in California since 2016, when former Governor Jerry Brown signed the California End of Life Option Act, which allows patients to administer lethal drugs to themselves.
