Denmark has lifted all remaining coronavirus restrictions, making it the first EU country to go completely back to pre-pandemic daily life. In March 2020, at the start of the pandemic, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen urged all Danes to show “samfundssind†which translates to “social-mindedness.” It suggests considering the needs of Danish society above your own. The prime minister’s idea of “social mindedness†may sound good in theory, but it ultimately eliminates the individual freedoms required for a healthy and free modern society.
