Private Americans took action to help with the evacuation of Americans, Green Card and SIV’s holders left behind by the Biden Administration. However, now the State Department is blocking private efforts to complete the evacuations. Individuals helping with the evacuation affirm that “It is not the Taliban that is holding this up — as much as it sickens me to say that — it is the United States government.†While planes wait for the State Department’s approval to take off, American lives remain at risk from the Taliban.
