China Unilaterally Creates New Maritime Law Over Contested South China Sea

Objectivity 4.1 | Credibility 4.6 | Relevance 4.5

Going a step further in its claims over the contested region beyond the South China Sea, Chinese government enacted a new law for foreign vessels. This ruling would mandate to all foreign flagged ships passing through the zone China claims its own to identify themselves, their positions, and any dangerous goods on board. Since those are international waters, the U.S. should ignore China’s claims and ruling to stop them from bullying the nations.
