Haitians are sleeping outside with fear that an aftershock could destroy their crumbling homes. With over 2000 people dead and more than 12,000 injured, the 7.2 magnitude earthquake’s deadly toll continues to rise each day. The earthquake destroyed 53,000 homes and damaged other 77,000. As teams of doctors, social workers, and volunteers go to help alleviate the severe crisis, gang violence remains a problem and is complicating rescue efforts for the poorest country in the Americas.
