Democratic mayors across the nation still seem mystified by the rising wave of violent crime in their cities. Likewise, mainstream media outlets have often blamed the precipitous rise in murder rates on the disruption of the pandemic or the continued shuttering of many schools and businesses. However, the truth is obvious even to the most casual observer: Violent crime is on the rise because police forces have been de-funded and disrespected in major Democratic cities at the same time that pro-criminal policies have been implemented.
