Islamabad hasn’t seen the enthusiasm for the CoVid-19 vaccine they hoped for. Rather than responding to this with proactive public messaging, they have taken a punitive approach, threatening to cut off cell phone service for unvaccinated residents. While the government defends this punitive approach as for the ultimate benefit of their citizens, most Pakistanis are wary of vaccines because of use as propaganda in the past and remain critical of the government’s harsh reaction to their lack of enthusiasm.
