Sydney McLaughlin, 21, is an American hurdler and sprinter who just broke the world record for the 400-meter hurdle. Clocking in at 51.90, she is the first woman to finish the 400-meter hurdle in under 52 seconds. She will, once again, be representing the US in the Olympics. In her interviews with journalists, she boasts about God and gives Him all the glory. “Just focus on me”, was God’s word to her. This is a breath of fresh air in the politically, anti-God and anti-country narrative coming out of most sources. McLaughlin’s display of courage is a great example of what it is to stand for God and Country.
