Turkey Withdraws from Istanbul Convention

Objectivity 3.8 | Credibility 4.0 | Relevance 3.5

After being the first country to sign up to this convention aimed at protecting woman from violence against them, Turkey has decided to withdraw after a decade of being involved. Women in turkey, specifically protest groups, have not reacted kindly to this news. In a country where violence against women and girls is a common thing backing out of the convention has definitely been met with anger.
