EU Presidents officially signed regulation reinstituting the “free” travel of EU citizens between European nations. However, the regulation requires a digital passport certificate showing that a person is either vaccinated, recovered, or has tested negative for the virus. Critics are concerned about the precedent this sets as an infringement on privacy, free association, and international travel in Europe. Questions remain as to whether the restrictions will be lifted next year or whether this will serve as a precedent to continue to restrict individual liberty throughout Europe.
